Job Posting for Dance Instructor   Come join our award winning teaching team! Strive Dance Academy Society is actively seeking resumes from qualified and accredited dance teachers in various disciplines to add to our evolving needs for the 2015-2016 dance season.   Strive Dance Academy (SDA) is located in the heart of the City of Red Deer in Central Alberta along the QEII corridor, between the two major Alberta Cities of Edmonton and Calgary.  Servicing well over 150,000 residents, Red Deer is the third largest city in Alberta. It is a family oriented community with an abundance of gorgeous green spaces, a variety of amenities, and an active arts and culture element.   Strive Dance Academy is the #1 school of Dance and Performing Arts in Central Alberta. Our mission is to provide dance excellence in a disciplined community environment for students in Central Alberta seeking the highest level of competitive dance instruction. Strive Dance Academy’s vision is to be a successful and sustainable community of elite competitive dancers, well respected and recognized for their dance excellence and citizenship as well as developing the foundation necessary for those who aspire to pursue a career in the performing arts.   SDA is a Not for Profit Studio which utilizes its funds to operate the Academy.  Since its inception in 2009, Strive’s competitive dance teams have consistently achieved several First Overall rankings and awards at prestigious dance competitions against top ranking schools throughout Alberta and Internationally. Our dancers are ADAPT and RAD trained, and examinations are held on a yearly basis.  We are proud of the solid reputation we have built to date, and are excited to forge ahead, continuing to strive for dance excellence, as we grow as a studio.   The Ideal Candidate would possess: Certification in RAD and/or ADAPT preferred 2+ years’ experience teaching and choreographing Passion for teaching children Experience in teaching children of a variety of ages and dance levels High level of professionalism Excellent communication skills Ability to work as part of a teaching team Experience in preparing dancers for RAD and/or ADAPT exams Wage – $24.00 – $40.00 per hour based on experience and training/education Hours – 10 – 25 hours/week – negotiable   SDA offers a competitive salary range, moving expense coverage, continuing education opportunities, and coverage of expenses associated with attending competitions.   Competition is open until a suitable candidate(s) are found.   For more information about Strive Dance Academy, please visit our website at: www.strivedanceacademy.ca   Please send resumes and teaching video or sample of your work (if available) in confidence to: careers@strivedanceacademy.ca
