Overview

RRYSA’s Art of Dance Studio is seeking a part-time dance instructor. Instructors at Art of Dance teach character development and leadership skills to youth and adults. The ideal candidate will have strong skills and significant experience in teaching several dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, acro, and drill. Other experience includes choreographing and staging performances, creating lesson plans appropriate for different skill levels/ages, and facilitating a safe and positive classroom environment. Candidates must be comfortable with and enjoy teaching a wide range of ages and skill levels from very young children through adults.

Other qualifications include:

-The ability to set and remain accountable to personal goals
-To be coachable and eager to learn new skills
-Strong verbal and written communication skills so you can be an effective mentor and coach and so you can prepare clear student evaluations and communicate with parents as needed.

Working as an effective team member staging studio productions, executing special events, and attending regular staff training and meetings.

As part of the interview process, candidates may be asked to provide examples of their past choreography or be invited to teach as a guest instructor.

We use dance as a mechanism to cultivate self love, confidence, and acceptance of others while simultaneously teaching the importance of establishing personal boundaries and respect of one's body. These teachings help to easily navigate social situations that may arise day to day in a school or work setting.
