The Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts has been providing the Greater New Orleans community with only the finest programs for the past 43 years.

We are seeking a Dance Department Coordinator to lead our faculty and student dancers across our multiple campuses.

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

1.) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience/training in dance or dance education.

2.) Ability to teach and create choreography for classes in Ballet, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre.

3.) Positive and outgoing personality with a true and deep desire to work with children and adults of all abilities.

4.) Able to create a fun and engaging classroom environment while fostering steady growth, progression and discipline.

5.) Excellent written and verbal communication and problem solving skills. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.

6.) Ability to teach up to 15 classes weekly, monitor and assess performance of all dance faculty, assist with all class promotions.

7.) A passion for the administrative/business side of running a major dance studio including customer service, developing new programs/curriculum, holding monthly departmental meetings, planning recitals, managing costumes, creating annual goals, and planning for regular growth.

Salary/Benefits:

Commensurate with experience- 40-50k annually, medical, dental, vision, paid time off.
