Dance Instructor

Overview

Dance Instructors should be qualified to teach beginning through advanced levels of Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Tap, Poms, and/or Hip Hop. Legacy Performing Arts Dance Instructors are professionally trained dancers invested in sharing their passion for the art with young dancers. Instructors should lead by example in areas such as punctuality, responsibility, motivation, and professionalism.
Responsibilities:

Effectively design and plan curriculums for all levels and populations according to the LPA Syllabus.
Prepare progressive lesson plans which will enhance the experience of program participants.
Record and maintain attendance records.
Set-up studio and return space to neat state upon completion of class.
Accurately complete all administrative duties relating to dance classes (i.e. timesheets,student evaluations/placements, recital forms, etc.)
Enforce LPA rules and policies by maintaining constant surveillance of class participants.
Choreograph one dance per class for end-of-year recitals.
Attend staff meetings.
Report injuries and complete required forms.
Immediately notify a supervisor of any broken equipment or unsafe aspects of studio space.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Degree in Dance or Professional Dance experience
Displays exceptional interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service
Displays excellent problem solving skills and initiative
Willing to work late/flexible hours
