Jazz, Hip Hop & Acro Teacher

Overview

Island Dance is looking for an experienced Jazz, Hip Hop & Acro instructor to join our team (Ballet is a plus)

We are looking for someone who is passionate, technical, disciplined and creative. They must also love working with children and teenagers of all levels and have the ability to inspire them and help them develop as dancers.

Social media and administration skills are an advantage.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Instruct and train students ages 18 months to adults of all levels safely in group and private dance classes.
– Incorporate elements of technique, performance, and choreography in their educational approach.
– Create a safe, fun and creative environment to support students and help build them into strong and confident dancers.
– Prepare students with appropriate routines for the following events: performances, dance exams and annual show.
– Engage, encourage and motivate students to reach their goals whilst evaluating and providing feedback for improvement.
– Understand the necessary syllabuses for classes eligible to take exams and prepare students appropriately and effectively during class time.

REQUIREMENTS:

– Strong verbal and written communication skills – Native or Business Professional level English
– Ability to establish rapport. Building relationships with students, parents, colleagues and partner vendors
– Dance Performing Arts degree or relative Dance Teaching certification (ie: ISTD, AcrobaticArts, RAD)
– Strong background in dance training
– 3+ years of teaching experience

Salary is dependent on experience
