Edge Dance Complex is looking to add 1–2 dance teachers to our team for the upcoming 2027–2028 season! We are a growing studio entering our second year, and we are looking for passionate, reliable, and dedicated educators who want to grow with us.
We are currently looking for teachers:
1. Preschool & Primary Dance Teacher
We are specifically seeking someone who loves working with young children and is passionate about building a strong foundation for developing dancers.
Our programs include:
Preschool: Ages 2–5
Primary: Kindergarten–2nd grade
Styles offered at these levels include ballet, tap, jazz, and acro.
We are looking for someone with strong classroom management skills, an understanding of age-appropriate instruction, and the ability to keep young dancers engaged while helping them develop coordination, technique, confidence, and a love of dance.
2. Dedicated Ballet Teacher
We are also looking for a qualified ballet instructor who is passionate about proper technique, strong training foundations, and dancer development. Experience teaching pointe is highly desirable.
We are willing to compensate appropriately for the skill, training, and experience of a qualified ballet teacher.
What We’re Looking For in All Teachers:
Dance experience and/or previous teaching experience.
A genuine interest in teaching and developing dancers, not just choreographing routines.
Someone willing and excited to teach recreational dancers, beginners, and young children.
Strong classroom management, communication, and professionalism.
A willingness to follow established curriculum and teaching expectations.
You do not need to have years of teaching experience to apply! We are happy to train the right candidate. We use structured curriculum and have established expectations for our classes, so this is not a free-for-all environment. We want teachers who value consistency, purposeful instruction, and helping every dancer grow.
Experience with the following styles hip-hop, pom, tap, acro, or competitive dance is a plus, but not required.
Pay & Growth Opportunities
Starting pay at $16/hour, with compensation increasing based on experience, training, qualifications, and skill.
Training and support for developing teachers.
Opportunities to grow with our studio as our programs expand.
Potential future opportunities in competitive dance and choreography for the right fit.
Immediate Winter/Spring Opportunity

Day: Fridays
Time: 4:00–4:45 PM
Class length: 45 minutes
We are also looking for someone who can substitute our preschool Tap & Jazz class for five Fridays during competition season in March–May.
These opportunities would allow us to get to know a potential new team member, with the goal of adding the right candidate to our regular teaching schedule for the 2027–2028 season.
📍 Location: Nashville, NC, approximately 15 minutes outside Rocky Mount and 45 minutes from Raleigh.
Interested? We would love to hear from you! Please reach out with a little information about your dance background, teaching experience!
