Dance Teacher Position
We are looking for a part-time dance teacher who loves working with children! Are you interested in teaching at a conservative, family oriented studio? We need someone who can commit 5-10 hours a week, with potential for more hours and responsibility in the future.
Qualifications
Excellent character, dependable, and punctual
Experience with young children is a must
Must have warm, welcoming personality
Strong proficiency in at least one of the following: Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Ballet
(at least some ballet experience preferred)
Minimum one year dance teaching experience
Experience choreographing for recitals preferred
Ability to manage large groups of children with a calm, authoritative presence
Willingness to help manage recitals and dress rehearsals
Interest in continuous learning and working together with a team of teachers Able to commit for a minimum of one year
Responsibilities
Arrive 15 minutes prior to class
Prepare class curriculum for structured, appropriately challenging classes
Provide age-appropriate, clean and wholesome music for classes and recital routines
Execute relevant and inspirational classes for aspiring dancers
Maintain class discipline
Treat students and studio families with care and graciousness
Work with Front Desk Manager to maintain a positive, safe studio environment
Attend occasional staff meetings (schedule flexible)
Compensation
$15-25/hour, based on experience
