Job Summary

We are looking for a part-time substitute tap instructor with strong proficiency in teaching intermediate to advanced tap curriculum. We need an instructor who can commit to a weekly schedule of at least 1 day per week in the evenings with the potential for more hours and responsibility in the future.

Qualifications

-Excellent character, dependable, and punctual

-Strong proficiency in tap is a must (experience in other dance genres is a plus but not required)

-Ability to manage and nurture a group class with a balance between discipline, care, and respect

-Experience choreographing for recitals

-Willingness to help manage recitals and dress rehearsals

-Interest in continuous learning and working together with a team of instructors

-Dance degree, or professional experience not required but a strong plus

 

Responsibilities

-Prepare class curriculum for structured and appropriately challenging classes

-Ability to teach material, demonstrate and thoroughly explain if needed

-Work with age-appropriate music and choreography for recital routines

-Execute relevant, motivational and inspiration classes for aspiring dancers

-Maintain class discipline with respect

-Attend monthly staff meetings (flexible)

 

Compensation

$20-$40/ hour

*Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
