Position Overview:

We are immediately seeking an encouraging and compassionate Ballet Teacher to join our team. This unique role involves floating between different age groups and levels within our studio, delivering high-quality dance education to students ages 7-18. Currently seeking a candidate with availability of at least 12 hours weekly.

The ideal candidate is open-minded and collaborative with our team. They demonstrate a willingness to be a team player, and to learn and navigate growth both as an instructor and with our dancers. Candidate can adapt teaching methods to suit various age groups and skill levels, understanding the least talented dancer may love it the most.

Our studio operates from Monday – Friday, approx. 4pm-8pm, and Saturdays approx. 9am-1pm. Additional hours may be available. This role has the opportunity to grow if the candidate is the right long-term fit.

Responsibilities:

• Teach beginning to intermediate ballet dancers using curriculum that is provided.
• Assist lead instructors in planning and executing dance classes across multiple ages and levels
• Completion of 20 hour paid training to use curriculum for ballet.
• Provide individualized attention and support to students, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Demonstrate dance techniques and movements as needed to assist students in understanding and mastering their technique
• Help maintain a clean and safe dance studio environment for all dancers
• Reliable and responsible with a commitment to punctuality and professionalism

Qualifications:

• Strong dance background with proficiency in Ballet technique
• Eager to share your passion for Classical Ballet, both in technique and as an art form throughout history
• Maintains spirit of collaboration, and consistently demonstrates willingness to be a team player who goes above and beyond
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students of all ages and skill levels
• Maintains positive, approachable attitude and demeanor
• Availability for 12 – 20 hours within studio operation hours (see position overview)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 – $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
