About Millennium Dance Company
Millennium Dance Company (MDC) is a not-for-profit dance school that was started by E. Denise Perry in 1994, with three little girls in the basement of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. It is dedicated to the preservation and authentic representation of dance in culture with a base of spirituality while utilizing dance as a vehicle for social change. Millennium Dance Company helps to foster high self-esteem, self-awareness, and positive thinking in our students by assisting them in developing skills in the virtue of discipline, strength, and commitment. Millennium Dance Company offers a plethora of classes such as Ballet, Graham-Based Modern, Horton, Dunham, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, African, and Latin. The classes are available to students ranging in age from two to adult. Every June, all the students have the opportunity to share on stage with family and friends, the many teaching styles of the various dance classes offered. Millennium Dance Company has served thousands of children throughout New York City by providing a safe and supportive environment where they are being mentored and provided with instruction in all styles of dance.
