Overview
Victoria Ballet is seeking a dedicated and passionate Ballet Instructor to join our faculty.
Victoria Ballet is a pre-professional ballet academy committed to building strong classical ballet foundations while supporting dancers along a wide range of developmental pathways—from beginner and recreational students to those preparing for international ballet competitions and major performances.
Our training philosophy emphasizes proper technique, musicality, artistry, and healthy dancer development. International competitions are an important part of our program, but they are approached as a natural extension of solid foundational training, not as the sole focus.
Position Details
- Teaching ballet classes for children and youth at various levels, from foundation to advanced, depending on experience
- Weekly regular classes and rehearsals for annual performances
- Opportunities to teach private lessons and support dancers preparing for international competitions, when appropriate
Compensation
- Hourly rate: $40–$70 per hour, based on experience, training, and teaching background
Qualifications
- Formal classical ballet training required
- Teaching experience preferred (foundation-level teaching experience highly valued)
- Strong understanding of age-appropriate, injury-conscious ballet pedagogy
- Experience with international competition preparation is a plus, but not required
- Professional communication skills and reliable commitment throughout the school year
