Overview

I am currently looking for a ballet instructor (a minimum of 16 hours per week). This position requires a 9-month commitment that starts this September 2015 – May 2016, and can go longer if mutually agreed. (There is a possibility to start at the end of June, but we do realize time is short.) This position is part-time with at least 16 hours, with a possibility of more hours. Starting pay is excellent depending on experience and background. Some benefits are available (i.e. housing contribution and/or some help with relocation expenses such as roundtrip airfare to and from Alaska). These can be modified to meet your personal needs.

The instructor will be teaching ballet (and pointe) to all ages from beginner through intermediate/advanced levels. This includes three competitive company groups as well as one Pre-Company group. The instructor will also be given freedom to use their creativity in choreographing contemporary and lyrical pieces for competitions and our Annual Company Showcase. The instructor must have either a 4 year degree in dance or the equivalent in teaching experience. (Teaching experience in other styles is a plus.) In order to challenge the company members, instructors need to have excellent technique with teaching skills, as well as good choreography skills. We have a wonderful positive atmosphere and are looking forward to new instructors joining our studio family!

If you are interested, please send a headshot, resume, references, and any video/reel of you dancing, teaching, or of your choreography (via YouTube, vimeo, etc.) if possible. If you’re looking for job security or adventure, this position would be a wonderful opportunity for you.
