SEEKING

We are seeking a Director of Dance to join our full-time Leadership Team.  This full-time, salaried position supports all aspects of the Dance department at TPAC including, but not limited to, teaching (all ages, styles, and levels), choreographing, coaching, leadership, management, sales, service, and support.  This role reports to the Artistic Director/Owner and works closely with dance teachers and administrative staff. DESCRIPTION 

  • Teach weekly dance classes to all ages and levels (ages 0-adult)
  • Competition choreography (large groups, small groups, solos, duos, and trios)
  • Lesson planning for up to 16 hours of technique and competition classes per week
  • Choreographing in our Summer Theater Workshops and Holiday Extravaganza
  • Planning and teaching in our Summer Dance Boot camp
  • Weekly meetings with members of TPAC’s leadership and management teams
  • Stage management of December and Spring Recitals
  • Assisting with Recital planning and championing various high-level tasks throughout the process
  • Leadership role with our dance team
  • Sales, service, and support for the entire dance department, including strategic and visionary planning for the future growth of the program

SCHEDULE

40-45 hours per week from September-May (Monday-Friday, including evening classes/rehearsals) and some weekends for events. Approximately 35-40 hours per week from June-August (mostly daytime hours for summer programming).   Potential to work remotely one day per week during the school year.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6 years minimum post-grad teaching experience
  • 6 years minimum post-grad competitive choreography experience
  • 6 years minimum post-grad administrative/leadership experience
  • Strong background in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and competition-level choreography.  Tap, Theater Dance, Hip-Hop and Acro experience is a plus!
  • The ideal candidate has meticulous organizational skills, the ability to think creatively and critically, and is highly collaborative.
  • The ideal candidate has a genuine interest and appreciation for teaching all ages and all levels.
