Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles, particularly ballet, hip-hop, jazz, acro, and/or pom. We are looking for a teacher that has a love for teaching students of all ages. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and encouraging students to express themselves through dance. The Dance Instructor will work closely with ages 3-18, ensuring that each student receives personalized attention and guidance.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement creative lesson plans that cater to the needs of different age groups, including preschoolers and adults.
Teach various dance styles with an emphasis on ensuring proper technique and safety.
Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills and confidence.
Organize and lead rehearsals for performances or showcases, including choreography and staging.
Collaborate with other instructors to create interdisciplinary programs that may include theater elements or other forms of art.
Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with dance trends.
Foster relationships with students and parents through regular communication about progress and performance opportunities.
Qualifications

Previous experience in dance instruction or related fields such as education is preferred.
Strong knowledge of dance technique; experience in other dance styles is a plus.
Ability to create engaging lesson plans tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
Experience in behavior management techniques within a classroom setting.
Familiarity with sewing or costume design for performances is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 – $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 12 per week
