We are searching for a dance teacher for our Beginner – Advanced Hip Hop dancers. We are looking for someone with teaching experience who is excited to join a team of instructors for the 2024-2025 dance year at TLDS. Our Dance teacher will be responsible for creating a fun, supportive, and engaging learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression.

We are looking for someone to teach 2 hours of hip hop on Wednesday nights in the 2024-2025 year. Training would be paid and begin as soon as September, 2024. There are two performances a year (December and June). There is room to grow in other styles and more hours in the future.

Duties:

– Develop and implement engaging and challenging dance lessons that cater to students of all skill levels and ages.
– Plan and prepare lesson plans that align with our current student capabilities while finding new ways to challenge and excite our dancers.
– Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all students.
– Provide individualized feedback and support to students to help them improve their technique and build their confidence.
– Create a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student growth and development.
– Collaborate with other instructors and staff members to ensure a comprehensive and cohesive approach to dance education.
– Participate in performances, and may be required to assist with event coordination.

Qualifications:

– Experience teaching dance to children (recommended)
– Experience with special education or adult education is a plus.
– Excellent behavior management skills.
– Experience with lesson planning.
– A background in childcare is desirable.
– The ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
– A passion for dance and a commitment to sharing that passion with students.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 per week
