Starr Dance Studio has been a respected leader in the dance community in Shorewood, IL for 20 years. Our staff is made up of high-level, sought-after dancers and choreographers with years of experience in the industry. They have trained numerous dancers into confident, well-rounded performers that are prepared to conquer any stage, dance floor, and life beyond the classroom.

Teachers that are passionate about dance and inspiring the next generation of dancers to achieve their full potential in dance and life.
Your Role:
– Demonstrate dance techniques and safe dance teaching methods.
– Plan, attend and teach all scheduled classes and rehearsals.
– Foster and promote an inclusive learning environment.
– Follow Starr Dance’s systems and procedures.
– Share your love of dance.
– Collaborate, communicate, and promote a positive working relationship with students, parents, and other staff members.
– Choreograph and teach a minimum of one dance routine per assigned class, to be performed throughout the year.
– Prepare students for all performances throughout the year.
– Apply first aid as required.
-Assist with production operations and planning for performances, programs, events, and sessions as needed.
Must Haves
– Previous dance experience is a must.
– Ability to be professional while also friendly, upbeat, and welcoming.
– Love working with and around children of all ages.
– Problem-solving skills and a “everything has a solution” attitude.
– Creativity
– Ability to remain calm when stressed or challenged.
– Have a basic understanding of technology
– Work in a team environment
– Ability to set and accomplish goals.
– Integrity, Honesty & Respect
– The ability to adhere to deadlines.
– Complete a criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
