Hip Hop Instructor and Coach

Overview

We are a growing studio in Olympia with both recreational and competitive Dancers.

We pride ourselves on diversity and aim to have each genre covered by an artist cultivated in their craft.

We would like to add someone to our team that shares the same passion we do for passing on skills and confidence to young dancers (3-18+) in the hip hop genre.

Our studio homes a competition Company that competes ALL genres. We have Coaches instructing and overseeing each comp routine genre (i.e. jazz, musical theater, hip hop, tap, lyrical, contemporary) on Sundays and on competition weekends as well as Instructors for our weekly recreational/tech classes.

Currently (fall/winter 2019) we have five hip hop classes split between Tuesday and Thursdays and 2 hours of choreo/practice on Sundays.  This position can be two or three days a week depending on availability/commuting. Sundays are a must as this is when our competition teams practice (weekly hours are reserved for tech and rec classes).

Must be well versed in their craft, have experience on the competing stage and working in class on technique with petites, Jrs and teens.

Must be able to teach both on counts and musicality.  We ask that you can cut/mix your own music and participate in workshops,/conventions/classes to keep abreast of what’s hot and what’s not. We will subsidize conventions and workshops throughout the year upon request/approval.

Our studio has limited hours on Friday and Saturday and could be available for use in cultivating your own classes or groups. We are always willing to expand offerings and are eager to support our staff in new endeavors (time and money permitting). Just a perk for our staff!

Please have a dance resume prepared to submit and two videos, one of your own dance skills and another showing your ability to create choreography. We do prefer a harder hitting hip hop style as opposed to video vixen/bubblegum pop.

We are prepared to offer a flat monthly salary for this position which will help subsidize any travel to us. Rate DOE. Solos/duos are also a possibility for the upcoming season and would be in addition to your monthly salary.
