Musical Theater Choreographer

Schechter Boston, an innovative school with a thriving arts department and a collaborative environment, is seeking an experienced and engaging Choreographer for our musical theater productions. This is a stipend position working with our students in grades 4-5 and 6-7 during their theater rehearsals. Rehearsals for Grades 4-5 are on Tuesday from 3:00-4:30.  Rehearsals for Grades 6-7 are on Mondays from 3:15-5:15 and Wednesdays from 3:15-4:15.  Some flexibility with time commitment will be considered. See below for specific dates and times.

Qualifications:

A BFA in Musical Theater/Dance or equivalent experience;
Demonstrated knowledge of choreographing theater productions
Experience working with middle school students;
Passion about teaching dance
Positive attitude and a sense of humor.

Very competitive salary based on experience and  availability to commit to schedule.

 

Hours:

Grade 4-5 Fall Theater:

16 Tuesdays 3:00-4:30 from 9/19/23 through 1/9/24 (no school vacations)
7 Sunday rehearsals 9:00-1:00 p.m dates TBD
Tech Week Rehearsals 3:15-5:30  1/16, 1/17. 1/18
Performance: 1/22/24  1:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Grade 6-7 Theater

26 Classes on Mondays (3:15-5:15 p.m.) and Wednesdays (3:15-4:15) from 11/6/23 through 3/18/24 (no school vacations)
4 Sunday Rehearsals 9:30-1:00 p.m. dates TBD
Tech Week Rehearsals: 3:15-6:00 p.m.  3/11, 3/12, 3/13
Performance: 3/18/24 1:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Grade 4-5 Winter/Spring Theater

11 Tuesdays 3:00-4:30 from 2/6/24 through 5/20/24
3 Sunday rehearsals in May
Tech Week Rehearsals 3:15-5:30  5/13/24-5/16/24
Performance: 5/20/24 1:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
