Nolte Academy Dance Faculty Job Description

Job Requirements
Nolte Academy is seeking a full-time dance faculty.  This instructor will teach and help design curriculum for pre-professional and general studio ballet and modern classes and run rehearsals for performances and competitions.  Experience with choreographing contemporary dance is preferred.  The job includes supporting the ballet director as a partner in designing instruction and modeling teaching for all ballet levels.

Work collaboratively with and report to the Nolte Ballet Director to implement a progressive curriculum in year-round ballet program:
Follow a curricula and prepare lesson plans
Teach ballet technique, pointe technique, and pointe variations for students Level 1-8 (22-25 hours weekly)
Able to teach a variety of ages and ability levels
Able to teach dance theory in a classroom setting
Mentor the ballet faculty in their teaching to improve the quality of instruction offered through modeling instruction and providing teacher feedback
Choreograph recital dances
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
Communicate effectively with other teachers, students and parents
Motivate students to reach their dance goals
Cultivate a fun and creative environment for students
Assist in rehearsing the annual Nolte Nutcracker
Assist in rehearsing annual ballet variations
Attend bi-monthly meetings with the artistic director and other dance directors
Contemporary choreography opportunities for spring ballet/competition company
Teach modern classes ages 12-18

Compensation

Annual salary: $ 32,500
Additional compensation available for competition choreography
By 3 months of employment, employee may opt in to Nolte Academy’s 401K matching program and can purchase group health insurance.
Vacation (approx. 4 weeks/year and aligned with dark weeks/vacation weeks at NA), Sick Leave/Absences (2/month with accrual)
