Melodic Movements Performing Arts Program Inc. is growing! We’re seeking an exceptional individual to join our team of instructor this season.

As a dance instructor for Melodic Movements, you’ll work first hand with our hard working and talented dancers providing an atmosphere that welcomes positivity and growth.

This job includes teaching and establishing correct technique, choreographing for performances and events and providing an exceptional customer experience that is consistent and always top standard.

We’re looking for a long-term team member to grow with us and create growth within our company. The role is currently part-time but can move to more hours with the right individual. Opportunities for growth are available based on performance and results.

Estimated Hours Per Week: 6-8 hours

The Day To Day- What You’ll Be Doing Exactly

Teach, establish and demonstrate proper technique and skill to dancers
Plan and prepare detailed lessons that promote overall growth in dance and ability
Create a classroom atmosphere that welcomes positivity and creativity
Choreograph show stopping performances for our two annual productions and for community events as needed
Experience with the following is a plus:

Able to teach HBCU style Majorette dance
Ability to work well with dancers of all ages
Knowledge of a variety of dance styles and techniques
Flexible evening schedule throughout the week & on Saturdays
Ability to teach Pointe
The ideal candidate should have the following:

Excellent communication skills
Self motivated
Excellent direction taker
At least two years dance teaching experience
Knowledge of dance terminology and dance history
