Are you ready to embark on the opportunity of a lifetime? The Los Angeles iLove Dance Academy (LAiLDA) will be opening its first studio in Shenzhen, China in January, 2019 and we need instructors! The market in China yearns for energetic and enthusiastic instructors willing to go abroad and teach US dance technique, style and performance. This amazing opportunity will allow you to share your love of dance with beginning, intermediate and advanced students from our brand new, world class facility in Shenzhen.
We are looking for both Hip Hop (Street Dance) and classically trained Ballet Instructors with 3-10 years teaching experience. All classes will be taught in English as that is an added benefit for students to be able to practice their conversational skills. Candidates agree to a minimum one year commitment to maintain consistency and fluidity for the students. LAiLDA will pay for housing, travel to/from Shenzhen plus one additional trip back to the US during the contract period. This role will be a full time, 40 hour a week position (days may vary due to enrollment) offering full benefits (health and dental), vacation time, sick days, personal days and a warm and engaging work environment.
Instructors daily responsibilities will consist of:
* Teaching
* Choreography
* Student Assessment
* Student Examination
* Front Desk Shifts
* New Student Enrollment
* Billing
* Student Retention and Satisfaction
Ideally, our Ballet Instructor will be ABT (American Ballet Theater School) certified and have experience teaching the curriculum as well as overseeing student assessment and examinations. If you are not ABT certified, qualified candidates will be sent to ABT training prior to their departure to China. Proficiency teaching other genres including Contemporary, Lyrical or Modern dance is a plus.
We will look to the Hip Hop (Street Dance) instructor to bring hard hitting, performance-centric choreography and style to their classes. Candidates that also have experience teaching Jazz or Theater will be highly considered for this role.
Applicants will be asked to provide a resume, headshot and a reel with samples of their choreography demonstrating different genres, as well as a clip of class instruction.
