Overview

We are looking for a knowledgeable classical ballet teacher to teach anywhere from 3- 5 days a week (4-5 hours daily) from beginner to advanced level ballet.  The candidate should have a working knowledgel of ballet terminology and a systematic approach to progressive studies.   The candidate should be able to teach a comprehensive barre and center in 55 – 90 minutes depending on the class level.  This person should be able to choreograph level appropriate dances for recitals and performances.  Ideally this person is acquainted with character dance, mime and pas de deux.  Knowledge of staging and planning a story ballet for the upper division is also desireable.  Candidate must be knowledgeable and acquainted with ballet class music, classical music, basic rhythms and assorted ethnic and folkloric music (waltz, tango, jig, mazurka, etc.). There is a potential to expand to full time and become the director.

About Lake Havasu Ballet

The Lake Havasu Ballet  is a 501(c) 3 non-profit that has been part of the Lake Havasu City Landscape for the past 17 years.   This is a junior level teaching studio that would like to raise the bar of instructional level.  Recent story ballets include Aladdin, Peter and the Wolf, Nutcracker divertissement and the Wizard of Oz.  The Lake Havasu Ballet maintains a large costume inventory suited to many sizes and styles.  There is a large 1600 square foot studio and a smaller 400 foot studio.  Both have mirrors, barres, and sprung floor with marley covering.  The studio is located in a peaceful neighborhood.  The most recent student body was 80 students.
