Overview

We are looking for teacher(s) for the upcoming 2025-2026 season and beyond.  This could be 1 full-time instructor or a couple part time teachers. Classes at our studio are currently Monday through Thursday evenings 4:00 pm-9:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am-1:00 pm.  This schedule is flexible, though, since we can adjust schedules to fit our teachers’ availability and preferences.  Our current teachers (that are leaving to focus on education and family) have taught ballet technique, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, modern, pointe, and tumbling/acro classes.  If you have experience in any or all of these styles or have a background in other additional styles that you would like to introduce to our community, we would love to hear from you!

We are also looking for someone interested in leading our competition team of about 35-40 students.  In the past, students have attended 3-5 regional events, 3-5 conventions/competitions, and 1 national event.

We are looking to find someone who will fit with our family friendly values as well as someone who is looking to collaborate and offer their strengths and experience to our studio.

Starting pay is $15 per hour with increases based on experience, education, and certifications.

About Jean-Marie Dance Studio

Our studio serves approximately 275 students with about 40 students in our competitive/intensive program.

We offer a Fall Semester (August-December), a Spring Semester (January-May), and a Summer Season (June/July).  At the end of the Fall and Spring Semesters, we put on a Recital at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center on the Vincennes University Campus.

Our studio currently offers classes for ages 3 and up. We offered Adult classes in the past, as well, if you are interested in getting an adult program up and running again.  We do not currently have any day-time classes such as Mommy & Me or Fitness classes, but we are open to offering such classes if we have the staff to teach.

Since our studio is mostly recreational students, the perfect candidate would be someone who can offer fun, engaging, and educational classes for these students and also offer a structured and organized competitive program.

The studio has one large, stage-size classroom and a smaller side studio.  There is also a matted space to practice tumbling/acro skills.

Our students and parents are a great group to work with.  It makes coming to work a joy!
