Instructor / Competition Assistant Coach
📍 Icon Dance | Angleton, Texas (Lower Brazoria County)
Icon Dance is looking for a positive, dependable, and passionate Instructor / Competition Assistant Coach to join our studio family.
We are a small recreation-focused studio with a close-knit atmosphere and a competition team that primarily competes in recreation and novice divisions. Our goal is to create a healthy, encouraging environment where dancers can grow in both confidence and technique while still truly enjoying dance.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children of all ages, works well as part of a team, and has a passion for teaching and mentoring young dancers.
Preferred Experience
Experience in multiple styles is strongly preferred, including:
Ballet
Tap (should be strong in tap)
Jazz
Lyrical
Contemporary
Acro
The ideal candidate should also have:
Experience teaching recreational dancers
Interest in assisting with competition team coaching
Basic choreography experience
Strong communication and classroom management skills
A positive attitude and team-first mindset
Reliability and professionalism
Position Responsibilities
Teach assigned recreational classes
Assist with competition team rehearsals and dancers (worked into our M-F schedule)
Help clean choreography and prepare routines for performances and competitions
Assist with choreography, music selection, and recital preparation as needed
Help create a positive and welcoming classroom environment
Communicate effectively with studio staff and administration
Attend competitions, rehearsals, meetings, and studio events
