Location: Eola Community Center, Prisco Community Center, Vaughan Athletic Center

Hours: Must be available evening and weekends as needed.

Salary: $12.00/hr + /Depending on Qualifications

Qualifications: Must be a responsible and reliable person age 16 or older with at least two years of dance experience. Previous experience interacting with children and teaching experience preferred. Must meet minimum qualification to teach beginner level classes of three or more disciplines. Must have experience in Ballet, Tap, Hip-Hop and/or Jazz. Friendly and outgoing personality with strong customer service skills. Ability to maintain discretion with regard to confidential matters and/or information. CPR and First Aid certification a plus. Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and provide own transportation.

Duties: Under the direction and supervision of the Dance Recreation Supervisor and Coordinator, the Dance Instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of dance programs. The Dance Instructor is responsible for general classroom management, planning, and instruction including dance terminology, warm ups, basic stretching, dance technique, and developing choreographed routines. During the recital session, instructors are responsible for selecting music and costumes, assisting in measuring dancers, assisting in handing out costumes and any information regarding pictures, rehearsal and recital. They are also needed to assist in recruiting parent volunteers for rehearsal and recital. This is an at-will position.
