Early Childhood Dance Instructor

Overview:

En L’air Studio of Dance, located in North Haven, CT, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Childhood Dance Instructor who has a genuine passion for working with children ages 2 to 6 years old and an unwavering love for dance. As an Early Childhood Dance Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in introducing youth to the joy of movement and inspiring a lifelong love for dance.

Responsibilities of the role will include (but not be limited to):

Teach Weekly Dance Classes

  • Plan and execute engaging and age-appropriate dance classes for children ages 2 to 6 years old.
    Introduce fundamental dance concepts and technique in a fun and accessible manner.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages self-expression and confidence.

Energetic and Enthusiastic Presence

  • Bring energy, enthusiasm, and a vibrant personality to each class.
  • Embrace the opportunity to laugh and be silly, and create a class setting that promotes fun and learning.

Inspire and Motivate

  • Be a positive role model and mentor to young dancers by supporting and sharing the vision and values of our studio.
  • Encourage students to explore their creativity, build confidence, and develop a sense of accomplishment through dance.

Communicate and Collaborate

  • Effectively communicate with parents to provide studio updates and reminders.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to contribute to the overall success of the studio.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will find joy in teaching and inspiring beginner dancers ages 2 to 6 years old, and should have a strong technical foundation in ballet and tap. The candidate must have previous experience working with young children, preferably in a dance or early childhood education setting. They should be energetic, outgoing, and comfortable being playful and silly.

Availability Requirements:

En L’air Studio of Dance offers a flexible schedule, supportive work environment, and opportunities for personal and professional development. We are seeking a candidate who is available one or two days weekly during the months of September through May to instruct weekly classes. Availability Thursdays, Fridays, and/or Saturdays is preferred. The candidate must also be available for one weekend in May to work at our year-end recital.

A skill assessment and class demonstration will be required. A final interview will be conducted to further evaluate the candidate’s fit and potential contributions. A job offer will be extended to the successful candidate.
