Job Title: Drama & Singing Teacher

Dept/Faculty: Drama & Musical Theatre

Location: Diverse Performing Arts Centre, Dubai

Full package for overseas hires including – Comprehensive private healthcare, annual flights home and working residence visa.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The drama teacher will deliver engaging, creative, and dynamic classes aimed at inspiring students. With a strong emphasis on nurturing a passion for performance, they will equip students with the necessary tools to enhance their skills and techniques. Collaborating closely with the drama and MT departments, they will actively contribute to crafting lesson plans and developing the comprehensive yearly curriculum.

In addition to teaching, the role entails preparing students for Trinity acting and LAMDA musical theatre exams and providing support in organising these assessments. The teacher will also play a role in assisting with MT productions and orchestrating captivating pieces for competitions and showcases involving both drama and MT students. It is expected that the post holder will maintain and elevate the remarkable standards set by previous drama teachers while introducing their own unique insights and expertise to the Diverse community.

This position involves working with students spanning a broad age range, starting from 5 years old and upwards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

To be confident/experienced in working with students on script work, stage direction, stage craft/movement and performance
To actively research and develop new teaching ideas for Drama and keeping abreast of new ideas and teaching practices within the wider industry
To explore new repertoire and performances suitable for the students
To develop and deliver innovative projects for solo and group performances in collaboration with other departments
To adhere to standards within the department
To teach as appropriate and by the agreement of the Principals
To assist annual Musical Theatre shows, including researching new material and to conduct performances as appropriate
To undertake administrative duties regarding general parent-teacher communication and assisting in the organisation of examinations as required
To carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job and the ethos of Diverse, as requested and illustrated by the Principals of the school and head of department

Ability to manage a variety of different age groups of students effectively from 5 years upwards.
Ability to relate effectively to students from a wide range of backgrounds
Driven to achieve excellence for their students

Experience

Minimum 2 + years teaching experience
Professional performing background preferred not essential
