Dance Teacher – Fulltime

Overview

We are currently hiring a committed Dance Teacher to complement our qualified team of dance educators. You will be responsible for preparing and implementing a variety of dance teaching plans according to students’ needs. It will be fundamental to provide knowledge and instruction in a variety of dance styles to students while also helping them develop their personalities and skills.

The ideal candidate will be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize a class and make learning an easy and meaningful process.

The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in dance and build students’ confidence.

Responsibilities:

Teach various dance techniques in acrobatics, ballet, pointe, contemporary, hip hop,  jazz, musical theatre and tap.
Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
Choreograph and stage dance numbers for performances
Supporting the students, giving constructive criticism, encouragement and confidence
Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
Capable of creating original choreography; re-stage classical works; rehearse and coach performances; possibly direct student performing companies.
Handle front desk office duties such as student registration, and shoe fittings.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a dance teacher (minimum of 2 years teaching experience)
Trained dance instructor with a degree or certification
Thorough knowledge of teaching best dance technique practices
Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills
Well-organized and committed
Creative and energetic
Strong moral values and discipline
Knowledge of CPR
