Overview

Center City Ballet and Movement Arts is a small neighborhood studio in the college town of Athens, Georgia. We focus on serious ballet training for children ages 5 and up in a town where most studios focus on competition and commercial dance. We are not performance-driven. A once-per-year final recital is an opportunity for our dancers to perform on stage and to demonstrate the technique they’ve learned throughout the session. Costumes are simple but professional. We offer pre-, beginner-, intermediate-, and advanced-ballet classes as well as pointe and classical variations for children and adults. While our current teacher is Vaganova-trained, any methodology or mix thereof is suitable as long as technique is solid and to the fore. Teacher must be firm but positive. Position is part-time, 10 to 15 hours per week. Some experience with live musical accompaniment helpful but not required. Please visit our website to learn more about our studio: centercityballet.com.
