About Carrington Dance Company

At Carrington Dance Company, we believe in putting students first. With options in specialties such as Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, and Baton, we aim to instill confidence, grace, passion, and discipline in every class.

The studio was founded by dancer Ann Carrington in 1967. Molly Williams inherited her grandmother's love of dance and performing, and quickly became a familiar face at the studio- eventually moving into assistant and teaching roles as well. While studying at Carrington Dance Company, Molly also ventured into competitive dance, where she performed and placed at celebrated competitions such as Dance Makers Inc. She also studied with celebrated New York instructor Frank Hatchett at Broadway Dance Center.

Upon graduating from Nottoway High School, Molly enrolled in Radford University, where she studied performing arts. She was accepted into the Radford Dance Company during this time and worked with notable instructors like Alexy and Inessa Plekhanova, Dana’s Bella, and Kyle Shukis.

After graduating from Radford, Molly moved to Virginia Beach to work with and choreograph for a variety of different dance companies. She has hosted dance intensives and workshops for studios across the East Coast and has received numerous awards for her choreographic work.

After five years of teaching and choreographing in Virginia Beach, Molly returned to her roots- this time as the new owner of Carrington Dance Company. Inheriting her grandmother's passion for arts education, she brought a new and exciting energy to CDC, tripling enrollment and offering many new and exciting classes. She also created an award-winning competitive dance company, Adrenaline, which focuses on community engagement and fosters friendship and support within the arts. Adrenaline has won both regional and national titles in addition to numerous first-place trophies, choreography awards, honor recognition for its students, and much more. Molly has worked with students of all ages and experience levels and teaches a wide variety of dance specialties. Most importantly, Molly strives to instill confidence, leadership, and discipline in each dancer she teaches. She believes that dance is a place for all, and hopes to continue inspiring students to love dance for years to come!
