Overview

A dance/fitness counselor at Camp Wicosuta holds a dual role within the dance/fitness setting and residential life aspect of camp.

Our dance/fitness staff assist in the planning and implementation of dance and fitness instruction with a focus on hip-hop, contemporary, ballet, tap, jazz, yoga, Pilates, and cross training. This individual works with campers between the ages of 7 and 15 with various abilities and skills. Dance/fitness counselors ensure that activities are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper’s age and abilities. Dance/fitness counselors assist in the management of
the dance and fitness facilities/equipment.

In addition, all counselors live in a cabin of a specific age group, housing approximately 6-12 campers and 2-4 staff members. As a cabin counselor, staff care for a group of campers in a residential life setting, managing the well-being of campers and helping to manage daily routines.
