Overview
Bluegrass Youth Ballet is looking for part time or full time ballet instructors for the 2021-22 season. BYB, a non-profit organization, has 12 levels of ballet and follows a specific syllabus (adaptable to each group’s ability). There are about 55-60 classes per week, ages 3 – adults distributed throughout all the instructors based on experience and suitability. BYB is a predominantly ballet school with some contemporary and conditioning classes added in the schedule for well-roundedness. In normal times, we perform 3 times per year, these are major full length cultural and educational performances (not recitals). One of the most important aspects of BYB is building community, diversity and inclusion.
Salary based on experience.
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
Extensive experience teaching ballet to various age groups
Experience choreographing or rehearsing
Having excellent yet kind control over the class
Responsible, reliable and self driven
Positive, communicative, team player and energetic
US citizen or legal permanent resident
Willing to become involved in outreach projects and community activities connected to BYB
Preferred by not required:
Experience teaching other dance forms (contemporary, modern, pas de deux, conditioning or yoga, character…)
Bilingual (Spanish – English)
Administrative skills
