What We Do….
Barbara’s School of the Dance is one of the most well known Dance Studios in the Capital Region. Not only have we been around for 44 years, we have educated thousands of young dancers who share a love for ballet, tap, and jazz. We are a tuition based studio whose season starts in September and culminates in June with a Show Style Recital performance at Proctor’s Theater. Our dancers range in ages from 3 to 18 and we also provide classes for adults.
The Studio focuses on the following:
– providing top-notch instruction within a nurturing environment.
– Master Level Classes are offered once a month to make sure our students are exposed to higher levels of technique and choreography.
– students are loving and helpful to each other and to the younger dancers who look up to them.
– we have a student teacher program where our older dancers can “give back” to our younger dancers.
About the Studio Owner…
Caley Dalpe, once a student herself under the direction of the original owner of the Studio, Barbara Gallager, purchased the Studio two seasons ago. It is her mission to continue the long standing dance traditions established by Barbara and to also heighten the level of excellence our dancers deserve.
We believe in…
Barbara Gallager believed that every true dancer had a light inside of them, that with the appropriate guidance and tutelage, this light would shine bright. Everyone has always been included at our Studio.
Why join our team…
Now is the time to join because we are implementing new programming and we want to expand our staffing! Our Studio has been a primarily ballet, tap, and jazz style studio. We look to expand our studio styles to include contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, broadway, etc. We are a close knit dance community, but are eager for some new dance blood to help take us to a new level. Are you that person?
We are looking for 2 part-time (evening) dance teachers who are well versed in multiple styles of dance. It would be best if you could teach:
Hip Hop and Contemporary (would be a plus!!!)
How to apply….
Please send your updated Resume to email@example.com.
Please send links to any videos of your dance experience or of routines you have choreographed. If contacted, you will be asked to teach a guest class at our Studio.
