Dance Instructor
Armstrong Dance Academy is located in the beautiful North Okanagan community of Armstrong. We have been operating for over 9 years and have grown from 45 students to approximately 250 students. Recreational and intensive classes are offered in: ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip hop and belly dance. Teachers enjoy teaching classes that are limited to 10 students/class; the opportunity to choreograph for various events; and are encouraged to continue taking classes for their own development. Armstrong Dance Academy is currently seeking a Jazz teacher qualified in CDTA, ADAPT or ISTD – or currently working towards qualifications. Versatility in other dance genres such as tap, hip hop, musical theatre, and ballet – is also required. We are looking for long term commitment from an individual who is mature; enjoys children; enjoys talking to parents; is a strong team player; and a good communicator. About Armstrong Dance Academy
Armstrong Dance Academy offers a variety of dance classes including ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip hop, & belly dance - for all ages and levels.
For the recreational student, we offer classes that are fun but still build a technically sound foundation. Students in the recreational programs enjoy performing in our annual student performance at the beautiful Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre.
For the more serious student, we offer an accelerated training program. Students are required to be enrolled in all ballet classes for their level to enter into other accelerated dance classes. The accelerated program offers Cecchetti ballet examinations and opportunity to perform in dance festivals and competitions.
Armstrong Dance Academy also offers a half day ballet program for students in Grade 9 or higher. Entrance into this program is by audition only.
