Crossroads Irish Dance is expanding our team! Have a love for glitter, fun. music and tutus? Love working to build a child’ confidence while installing good values?  We are looking for someone who is energetic and fun-loving as our students to spread the joy in our dance studio.

Irish Dance experience is NOT needed for this position. This is a wonderful opportunity to for a candidate expand their dance repertoire to include Irish dance as all training is provided on site for teaching preschool and beginner level material. 

Crossroads Irish Dance is a busy studio that serves over 100 dancers each week. We are currently looking to fill an instructor position for kids between the age of 18 mos to 12. The ideal candidate must adore children, have great communication skills, be organized, out-going, self-motivated, and professional. This position will take the lead in leading our preschool and school age dancers in our mission and core values inside the classroom.

As one of our Lead Educators  for Crossroads Irish Dance, you’ll get to experience being an positive role model, mentor and dance instructor to our dancers. As one of our most valuable representatives, you’re our brand’s ambassador! Your 6-star instruction will help us to foster happy and loyal customer relationships for years to come.

We value teachers, so candidates must have a strong understanding of HOW to teach skills- not just how to do the skills. We value teachers who know how to make our dancers shine and feel confident.

Although an Irish dance studio, this position will not require formal Irish dance training as this position will be serving preschool and beginner level dancers so all training is provided. Individuals with experience in any creative dance environment or recreational activity working with children would be considered. Overall we want someone who loves working with and inspiring children in the creative arts

We are seeking to fill instructors for our summer dance camp with potential to continue with us for our fall/spring 35 weeks season in weekly classes.

Applicants must be available weekdays starting June 19th between 8:30-1:00pm for half day camps and 5:00-7:00pm of evening camps. A schedule will be provide upon request with specific camp dates. No classes will be held July 4th.

We are looking for someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and pitch in to give our dancers a great experience in the studio ! This is a great opportunity for a candidate who wants something fun to do part time through the summer.

We are fun, energetic, supportive staff who are invested in our students and in each other.

Tasks and Responsibilities

We are seeking a candidate with experience working with children in an educational field or  creative dance, music or arts environment or other recreational activity. Familiarity  with learning and behavior methods and principles for child development and experience is crucial.

NO formal training in Irish dance is needed. Any training and development with basic Irish dance techniques and skills will be provided upon hire by certified staff. We first and foremost want to be sure there is a good fit in working with children and have a passion for education.

For the Summer you will be in charge of planning and leading our themed camps that run both half days and evenings as part of our summer session. These camps include dancing, crafts, games and more. Camps are scheduled on various dates between June 19th- August 1th and will run between 9:00-12:00pm or 5:00-7:00pm.

Potential to continue on the team for our 35 fall/spring session if interested and wanting to stay on.

The Day To Day – What You’ll Be Doing Exactly

  • Establishes and nurtures a fun, creative, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental level of the students.
  • Finds a balance between entertainment and learning in the classroom.
  • Guides the learning process towards the achievement of curriculum goals and within the context of these goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects with the ability to communicate these objectives effectively to students.
  • Develops and prepares lesson plans for classes and implements creative direction to enhance engagement, training and learning for students.
  • Implements a variety of instructional techniques and sources that meet the needs and capabilities of the student (s).
  • Establishes high expectations for success and classroom behavior.
  • Enforces and supports studio policies, protocols, and core values.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with students and their parents as well as Crossroads Faculty.

Passion for Child Education: Experience working with children in an educational setting or in a creative dance, music or arts environment or other recreational activity. NO formal training in Irish dance is needed.  Any training and development with basic Irish dance techniques and skills will be provided upon hire by certified staff.

Creative and Artistic: Enjoys coming up with new ideas, steps outside the box  and takes the lead on artistic director to create a fun, energetic and inclusive learning environment.

Self-Motivated and Excellent Direction-Taker: You know how to prioritize the most important tasks (at times with minimal guidance), and how to think on your feet. At the same time, you pride yourself in your ability to take direction and deliver the desired result.

Excellent Communication Skills: You understand the nuances of email communication, and can handle even the most challenging situations with professionalism and warmth. You’re also committed to keeping your supervisor “in the know” about your progress. (No one has to ever chase you down!)

Deadline-Obsessed and Detail-Oriented: You love doing tasks on time, and checking them off your checklist! In fact, you are one of those people who don’t understand how some people can be so disorganized and tardy. Responding to emails with a sense of urgency and care is a source of pride.

Personal Responsibility: If you make a mistake, you take 100% responsibility and fast action to remedy the situation. Able to communicate with Manager and/or co-workers when needing assistance with a task to meet a deadline or due to being overwhelmed or stuck.

Customer Empathy: Imagining yourself in a customer’s shoes, you respond with empathy and have an ability to not take grumpy or terse emails personally. You see yourself as a bridge between company needs and customer needs. You know when it’s appropriate to be friendly and accommodating and when to be firm.

Pay Rate

  • Teaching rate is between $15 to $20/hr based on experience.  We also provide additional compensation to teachers for attending events and for any administrative tasks.
  • A camp stipend of $30 per camp is provided to cover planning, setting up and cleaning up.
